HappyDesk is designed to help you build better posture awareness while keeping your personal data under your control. This Privacy Policy explains what information HappyDesk collects, how it is used, and the choices you have.
Information We Collect
HappyDesk may collect or process the following information, depending on how you use the app:
By default, this information is stored 100% locally on your Mac. If you choose to create an account, HappyDesk may offer free storage and sync services for account and posture-history information. See the Storage and Sync section below for more detail.
- Account information, such as the email address you use to sign in.
- Posture-related metrics generated by the app, such as posture scores, reminders, session history, and progress trends.
- Settings and preferences, such as reminder timing, calibration choices, and display preferences.
- Support information you choose to send us, such as your name, email address, request type, and message.
Camera and Posture Processing
HappyDesk uses your Mac camera to estimate posture while the app is running and camera permission is enabled. Camera input is processed to create posture feedback and posture-related metrics. HappyDesk is designed for posture awareness, not photo or video collection.
HappyDesk does not sell camera data, and the app does not record or store photos or videos of you. Posture analysis is used to provide live feedback, reminders, and progress tracking.
How We Use Information
We use information to provide and improve HappyDesk, including to operate sign-in, show live posture feedback, provide reminders, track progress over time, remember your settings, respond to support requests, and maintain app security and reliability.
We may collect website and product analytics, such as page views, download clicks, DMG download starts, anonymous app launches, session lifecycle events, support request starts, app version, and release channel. We use this to understand where people get stuck and to improve HappyDesk. The app does not send camera frames, photos, videos, body landmarks, or posture scores for analytics, and you can turn app analytics off in Settings.
Storage and Sync
The default is that all HappyDesk data is stored locally on your Mac. If you choose to create an account or use account-based sync features, some account and posture-history information may be stored with our service providers so your account and history can work across sessions.
Third-Party Service Providers
We may use trusted service providers to operate HappyDesk, including services for authentication, secure data storage, app distribution, website hosting, and customer support. These providers may process information only as needed to provide their services to us.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your personal information to track you across other companies' apps or websites for advertising.
Your Choices
You can control camera access through macOS System Settings. You can also stop using HappyDesk, sign out, or contact us to request help accessing, correcting, or deleting personal information associated with your account.
Data Retention and Deletion
We keep information for as long as needed to provide HappyDesk, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and maintain security. You can request deletion of personal information associated with your account by contacting us at support@happydesk.app.
Children
HappyDesk is not directed to children. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.
Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the policy posted on this page.
